School Office Coordinator

Math and Science Academy is hiring for an Office Coordinator for our Building A office. The
Office Coordinator is responsible for staff and student office support and assisting with Skyward
reporting. This position has direct contact with students and families on a daily basis, and the
ideal candidate has a strong passion for working with students and families from a diverse
background.
Required: Associates Degree preferred, or other demonstrated experience.
Reports to: MSA Administration Team
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm. This position is expected on-site on non-student
contact days. This is a 12 month position. This schedule is subject to change, based on the
needs of the school.
Compensation: $19-21 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties below are not intended to be a comprehensive listing
of all duties and tasks performed by those holding this type of position.
Essential Functions:
Manage daily attendance logs, including contacting staff members and families
about absences.
Create reports for Administration, upon request, regarding attendance.
Maintain the office, health room, and copy room by keeping them clean and
organized.
Maintain an inventory of office and health supplies on hand, and
communicate needs when supply is low.

Serve as a confidential administrative assistant to the Administrator in Building A.
Maintain positive interactions with students, staff, and visitors to the school.
Answer questions and provide direction to in person interactions.
Take incoming calls through the main phone line and redirect as
appropriate.
Monitor student sign-in and sign-outs throughout the day for the building.
Treat all students and families in an equitable manner.
Send announcements, letters from staff, office announcements, etc. via Skyward
email to parents and students.
Serves as a backup for when the Building B Office Coordinator is absent.
Submits daily announcements.
Assists with checking in daily substitute teachers, and preparing class
rosters.

Assist with athletic early dismissal lists and other athletic needs.
Assist lunchroom monitors with any needs.
Assist with bulk mailing during the school year, and other clerical duties as
assigned.
Participate in and assist with the execution of crisis management teams (fire and
lock-down drills).
Additional functions:
Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural,
economic, and ability backgrounds.
 Attend and participate in staff meetings as available and weekly office meetings.
Obtain information for parents when requested.
Promptly return phone calls and respond to emails.
Participate in appropriate professional development activities.
Other duties as assigned.

Associates degree from an accredited institution or proven experience in functioning in a
busy environment with multiple interruptions.
Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and other programs is essential to being
successful in this role.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with
others.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish MSA’s Mission and
Vision.

Physical requirements associated with the position can be best summarized as follows:
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning
devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally
lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
Duties are performed in a typical school setting. There are minimal environmental
hazards and risks associated with the nature of the work.
