About Us

Community Thread is a nonprofit organization that connects and engages local residents to enrich their own lives while improving quality of life for their neighbors. By mobilizing volunteers and maximizing partnerships, Community Thread offers community-led programs in three core areas: ongoing activities and services for older adults, seasonal tax preparation for low-income adults, and a holiday gift drive providing meaningful assistance for local families. In addition to its programs, Community Thread hosts an online database of volunteer opportunities at dozens of nonprofit organizations in Washington County and promotes volunteerism to meet emerging community needs.
