Lunchroom Monitor
Position Overview
MSA is seeking a Lunchroom Monitor to provide supervision and support during student lunch periods. This role ensures a safe, respectful, and orderly cafeteria environment while building positive connections with students.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM – 1:20 PM (Student contact days)

Reports To: School Administration
Key Responsibilities

Student Supervision: Supervise lunch periods, maintain order, redirect behavior, and assign seating or update cafeteria procedures as needed for safety.

Support & Culture: Build positive rapport with middle and high school students, model school values, and handle student interactions with equity and fairness.

Facility Support: Help maintain cleanliness in the cafeteria and assist with light clean-up and organizing before, during, and after lunch periods.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Prior experience supervising children in a group or school setting preferred.

Strong communication, patience, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift and occasionally lift/move up to 10 lbs.
Staff Enrollment Preference Note
Per Minnesota Statute and school policy, staff members eligible for student enrollment preference for their child (including foster children) must be employed to work a minimum of 480 hours within the school calendar year.
