Presentation: Woodbury: State of the City Address
In her 2016 State of the City Address, Mayor Stephens will reflect on this year's highlights and provide an overview of what she sees on the horizon for Woodbury in 2017 and the future.
Presenter: Mayor Mary Giuliani Stephens
Mary Giuliani Stephens was elected in 2010 as Woodbury’s fifth mayor, and first female mayor. She had previously served on the City Council since 2007. Stephens is President of the Woodbury Economic Development Authority and is Chair of the Woodbury Housing and Redevelopment Authority and also serves on the Regional Council of Mayors, Metropolitan Legislative Committee, and Gateway Corridor Commission. Stephens is a Woodbury Area Chamber of Commerce and the Woodbury Community Foundation board member. Her volunteer positions within the community include the Woodbury Jaycees, Woodbury Athletic Association, Woodbury Soccer Board, Minnesota Youth Soccer Association, New Life Academy Educational Foundation Board, and Woodbury Prayer Breakfast Board. She is a member of the Woodbury Lion’s Club.
Mayor Stephens received her bachelor’s degree with distinction in political science and speech communications from the University of Michigan and her juris doctorate, cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law. Stephens was a partner in the St. Paul law firm of Moore, Costello & Hart, practicing primarily in the area of commercial construction. She also served on the American Arbitration Association’s panel of arbitrators for no-fault, commercial, and complex cases. She has resided in Woodbury for 30 years with her husband Greg. The couple has two adult children and two grandchildren.
