About the Program: Minnesota’s labor market is entering uncharted territory. Record low unemployment rates, record high job vacancies, an aging population, slowing labor force growth, greater diversity, new technologies and workplace innovations, new legislation…these are just some of the factors impacting Minnesota’s labor market today. And, these factors will certainly impact Minnesota going forward into the future.
This presentation will highlight current realities and trends in Minnesota’s labor market, with a special focus on Washington County and Woodbury. More specifically, it will address what makes Washington County and Woodbury unique when it comes to population and demographics, labor force statistics, and industry trends. In addition, attendees will hear how to find and access labor market information tools and resources.
About the Presenter: Tim O'Neill is the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development regional analyst for the seven-county Twin Cities region of Minnesota. He has a bachelor's degree in history and political science from St. Olaf College and a master's degree in public policy from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.
