Hidden in plain sight\, human trafficking is happening right here in our community.  Washington County Attorney Kevin Magnuson and Assistant County Attorney Scott Haldeman will discuss the implications and share how the East Metro Human Trafficking Task Force are the heroes taking down traffickers. \n\n\n\nJoin us for this important event and make a difference in the lives of others. Parents\, educators\, business operators and community members have important roles in preventing trafficking and helping those who might be at risk.  Discover how you can prevent trafficking and help victims in your community. \n\n.\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\nWashington County Attorney Kevin Magnuson joined the Washington County Attorney's Office in 2019 after 20 years of practicing law and has handled complex civil and criminal matters such as fraud and vulnerable adult cases\, attorney ethics\, redistricting\, election law\, multi-county joint powers boards\, and advising the county board and administration.  His experience also includes white collar criminal defense\, federal and state civil and criminal investigations\, attorney ethics and professional responsibility disciplinary review. \n\n\n\n\n\nAssistant County Attorney Scott Haldeman has been actively involved in combating human trafficking as the designated prosecutor with the East Metro Human Trafficking Task Force since June 2021.  His experience also includes prosecuting complex cases focusing on Medicaid fraud and has specialized in handling violent crimes.\n\n \n\n \n\nADVOCACY & ACCESS SERIES: A SEAT AT THE TABLE\n\nThis is a new initiative in 2024 where community leaders will speak throughout the year on issues affecting business and our community.
