About Us

Open Cupboard (formerly known as Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf) is a food shelf serving the East Metro area of the Twin Cities. Open Cupboard provides a variety of programs designed to increase access to healthy food for anyone who needs it. These programs include:
1) Today’s Harvest markets that are open 6 days a week and offer the “top five” items requested by food shelf clients in a highly accessible, welcoming format.
2) a Mobile Food Shelf program that distributes food to six senior living facilities and two mobile home communities
3) a Drive-Up food program that distributes fresh produce, meat, dairy items, and other essentials like diapers, feminine hygiene items, household and personal care items, and more. This program is open to anyone, regardless of address, and also provides culturally relevant and special diet choices.
4) food deliveries coordinated in collaboration with Valley Outreach and White Bear Area Food Shelf. These deliveries are provided to anyone in Ramsey or Washington counties who is unable to travel to the food shelf.

Open Cupboard’s programs provide fresh and healthy food to over 4,000 households per week, and they are currently the most-visited food shelf in Minnesota. Use of their programs has grown 941% since the pandemic began.
