Presentation: From Volume to Value: How the changing health care landscape is bringing health and well-being closer to home.

Success in health care today has taken on new meaning and requires new expertise. As the leading health care provider in the East Metro, HealthEast understands the impact of changes resulting from health care reform and regulation. These changes have challenged the organization to be creative and innovative while staying true to its unique strength of creating meaningful relationships.

Join us for a conversation with President and CEO Kathryn Correia and learn more about HealthEast’s commitment to making communities like Woodbury healthy places to live and work.

Kathryn Correia was chosen as President and CEO for the HealthEast Care System in January 2012. An advocate for community health and well-being, she embraced the opportunity to help create a vision for HealthEast that would inspire the organization to see the future of health care through a new lens – thus was born “Optimal health and well-being for our patients, our communities and ourselves.”  The HealthEast Vision has served to engage and motivate employees and physicians alike.

Correia serves on the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) Board, Community University Board (CUB), and the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities Board, and Leadership Council for the Center for Lean Healthcare Research (The Ohio State University/Fisher College of Business).  An Ohio native, Correia received her undergraduate degree from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, and her Master’s degree in Health Administration from the Ohio State University.  She previously served as president of Appleton Medical Center and Theda Clark Medical Center, and senior vice president of ThedaCare.  Her work using The Toyota Production System (lean) to transform health delivery models has been featured in several national publications, including Health Affairs.    Correia is married to Steve Correia, PhD. They reside in Woodbury, Minnesota, with their two sons.
