Description
TOPIC: "Active Shooter Safety Training"
PRESENTER: Andy Welch, Woodbury Police Officer SWAT Team Leader
About the Program: Attend this proactive program designed to give attendees information on the police department’s most current active shooter tactical techniques. Hear realistic and practical decision making tips so you know what to do from the time an active shooter incident starts until the police arrive. The training will examine several different security scenarios using tabletop exercises to address safety plans. The program will also examine common place security risks that don’t involve an active shooter. This presentation will not supersede any company’s current lock down policies, does not offer specific self-defense tactics or medical certifications and will not make employees afraid to come to work. Rather, the course is designed to educate and empower.
About the Presenter: Officer Andy Welch is a Team Leader on the Woodbury Police SWAT team. He has been with the Woodbury Police Department since 2006 and during his career has served as a patrol officer, firearms instructor, field trainer and firefighter. Andy attended St Cloud State University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and lives in Woodbury with his wife and two sons.
